Carmen Angelica
Carmen Angelica is a comedian, writer and director originating from Minneapolis, MN. After studying Film at NYU's Tisch Film school she moved to LA to work in the industry. You might have seen her work on popular comedy sites like Cracked, Funny or Die and CollegeHumor where she wrote, performed and directed. Carmen was a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade on their improv, live sketch and their digital sketch teams. In addition to live comedy Carmen filmed many shorts and sketches, resulting in her short film Tight Spot becoming Vimeo Staff Pick in 2015. In 2019 Carmen was recognized as a New Face Creator at Just For Laughs in Montreal. Carmen’s work has been written up in media like Entertainment Weekly, Vulture, and Huffington Post. Carmen moved back to New York in 2021 to work as a Segment Director at The (the Emmy Winning) Daily Show where she has had the opportunity to direct outstanding talent like Roy Wood Jr., Leslie Jones, and John Leguizamo. Outside of her job, Carmen develops her own projects and films in addition to hosting a successful stand up show at the Westside Comedy Club theatre. In her free time, Carmen likes to run (she completed the New York Marathon in 2023), read and eat good food.
