Bio

As a filmmaker, Zach is best known for his uniquely askew television commercials, which often feature wildly eccentric humans and creatures. He has worked with brands such as Coke, Volkswagen, Microsoft, Burger King, and Comcast, having won various awards throughout his 12 year career. One of his commercials is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art.

While driving on the freeway in the summer of 2007, Zach heard a report on the CBC’s “As It Happens” about one man’s quest to complete the only penis museum in the world. Completely transfixed by the story, Zach nearly crashed his car as he frantically pulled over to take notes. Three weeks later, he and his friends were in northern Iceland filming the documentary film, The Final Member.   The feature length documentary is having its world premiere in Toronto at The Hot Docs International Film festival in May 2012.

Zach attended film school at both Queens University in Canada and the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
